Celebrating Global Handwashing Day 2025: Starbucks Built AquaTowers with Planet Water Foundation

In celebration of Global Handwashing Day 2025, the Starbucks Foundation, together with the Planet Water Foundation, built new AquaTowers at SD N Citeureup 02 and SD N Puspanegara 03 on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Starbucks Indonesia partners joined hands with teachers to create clean water and handwashing facilities, marking the 19th AquaTower built in Indonesia.

Students also took part in educational activities that taught them the essential of access to clean water and how regular handwashing can prevent diseases and create a healthier learning environment. Furthermore, they learned about the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyles through proper nutrition. A knowledge that will benefit them in their daily lives.

With the completion of the 19th AquaTower in Indonesia, more than 40,000 people have now gained access to clean, safe water — including 18 schools equipped with AquaTower water filtration systems. As one of our promise, Starbucks remains committed to contribrute positively on the communities we serve.
