The Starbucks Foundation and World Central Kitchen Support Humanitarian Relief Efforts for Communities Impacted by the East Nusa Tenggara Earthquake

Following the magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck off the coast of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, on August 15, 2026, The Starbucks Foundation is providing a humanitarian grant of IDR 500 million to World Central Kitchen (WCK) to support emergency relief efforts for affected communities.

As part of The Starbucks Foundation’s partnership with World Central Kitchen (WCK), ready-to-eat meals are delivered to earthquake-affected communities across East Nusa Tenggara, helping provide immediate nourishment and support during recovery efforts.

The earthquake, which struck off the northeastern coast of Nagekeo Regency, Flores, resulted in loss of life, injuries, and the displacement of thousands of residents. Through support from The Starbucks Foundation, World Central Kitchen is providing meals to communities near the epicenter, where access to food is an urgent need, to help individuals and families regain stability and begin the recovery process. The Starbucks Foundation is partnering with World Central Kitchen, a humanitarian organization with extensive experience responding to disasters across Indonesia. Through strong local partnerships and rapid mobilization capabilities, WCK has delivered critical food relief to communities affected by emergencies throughout the country.
